Vetiver will be making the pilgrimage to that drunken orgy of musical mayhem fondly known as SXSW in the next couple of weeks, swinging through a host of delightful locales on the way down and back, so please do come out and see us, and kindly share any moral support and/or bbq advice you may have. The shows en route to Austin will be with the estimable Sian Alice Group and those upon return with the enchanting Larkin Grimm.

I'd like to take a moment and thank all the folks who came out to see us on this recent tour of Europe and the UK. Really wonderful venues, kind fans and helpful promoters made the tour a breeze, and we couldn't have done it without Ondra's steady hands and masterful GPS maneuvering. Cheers!

We're planning on returning late in the summer for some festivals and a few scattered shows, and hopefully later on in the year for a more extensive tour of the continent. As always, if you are interested in helping us set up a show, please contact Todd through our Contact page.

Also dates are up for short runs in April on the west coast with one of our favorite songwriters, Richard Swift, and on the east coast and northward in May with good friends of ours, Papercuts. Needless to say, we are very excited by these bills and looking forward to the tours.

So to recap, our new album Tight Knit is available in stores throughout the US, Canada, Australia and Japan, and Bella Union will have it ready for you over in the UK and Europe March 16th. In advance of that, they've also printed up a limited run of 7"s for the song "Everyday", with a wonderful cover design by one of our favorite artists and the designer of Tight Knit, Nathaniel Russell. This will be available March 9th, so jump on it, as there are only 500 being made.

See you on the road!

Hello
Where can we get those lovely t-shirts you had at Cecil Sharp?
Thanks

I'm amassing a small army of knife-wielding nerds, we'll be waiting for you at the cradle.

dickweed | 03/05/09 @ 08:54 PM

Thanks for not stopping in dallas or houston :(

Timmy | 03/07/09 @ 06:13 AM

We'll be there to help you kick it off in Philadelphia. Can't wait!

Rudy's barbeque in Austin is the best heart attack on a plate you will ever eat. Magnolia cafe is great for hungover breakfasts (I am partial to the one on south congress). If you feel like eating a non-coma inducing meal, thundercloud subs is pretty tasty. Have fun!

Mandrax Icon | 03/11/09 @ 06:18 PM

GREAT!

Looking forward to see you here in Portugal again =)

Kate | 03/11/09 @ 11:05 PM

Wish you'd make a stop in Denver. You're good mountain-drive music.

hannah | 03/12/09 @ 02:47 PM

HEY Vetiver! Please look out for those nife-wielding nerds. Be careful in at the Cat's Cradle. I am worried about them attacking you.

Sean Earnest | 03/13/09 @ 12:15 AM

Hi Andy et al!

Another brilliant show at Dulcimer..it was so good to hear "I Must Be In A Good Place Now" done live..and "Wishing Well" is such a great rocking and uplifting tune! Hope one of your scattered UK shows over the summer brings you back this way.

Cheers!

Ryan | 03/17/09 @ 07:38 AM

I still have the show in my mind - you all did it right in Knoxville! Your music has continued to amaze my family and me, and the roads of TN are a better place with Vetiver in the player. We all sincerely hope you come back. You inspired us. Cheers!!

I saw your show at the Eagle Rock center for the Arts.... an it was the best show I've seen in a long time. I love you guys and hope to catch you in NY.

Andy mentioned that someone didn't want to see Benji, I'm just curios who it was. I was afraid to see it too! Does Benji even die? I have no idea. Haven't seen Bambi, for the same reason!

I had a great spot up front, and didn't want the show to end. I guess I'll have to come up North to see you, a great excuse to visit SF.

Andy -

Remember me??
"The greatest question a human can ask another human is 'will you be friends?', so, with that in mind, Andy Cabic, will you be my friend?"
SUPER glad we are buds now. Drop me an email and say hello from the road when you get the chance. Wow.....this feeling of being pals is AWESOME.

haha,
Braeden H.

saw you guys in pittsburgh in 2004 (yay garfield artworks) and in ny last, last, fall with devendra. too shy to actually have said it in person, but i lingered after both shows a few extra minutes thinking i might. and now thinking about it, a linger does the job quite well, showing appreciation i mean.

okay so i have no idea if anyone ever checks these comments, but i have a question!

i'm jonesing to see "The Family Jams" and was wondering if you could put a word in to kevin barker to submit* the film to play in copenhagen (i'm over here for the year).

thanks, love love love the music

*for kevin: there's a theater i recommend working with, akin to Film Forum in new york, but i can't for the life of me remember the name right now... "From Here to Before" was shown here back in the fall during CPH:DOCS, so really, its serendipitous you show it there... at least in the destiny sense.

Vicki Campagna | 04/19/09 @ 12:51 AM

a relentless question.... any plans for summer festivals.... on the west coast? I need another dose, soon! And I'd rather not go out and buy the bottled of Vetiver.

jon | 04/20/09 @ 04:18 PM

amazing music, perfect as summer comes in. please consider a date in st louis or KC, its been awhile since i've seen you guys

Dan | 04/20/09 @ 07:36 PM

Andy is an interesting fellow.
I saw vetiver live when they came here (vancouver) just recently.
His eyes, something about those eyes just, I don't know, never seen eyes like his.
What a show, wish I was tripping for it, better luck next time ^_^
On a side note, those opening acts were beyond lame.

A friend of mine just won tickets last week to see Mogwai on thealternateside.org, this week they are giving away a pair to see vetiver. check it out!

Does anyone have any live shows? I used to watch the Fabchannel show from the Paradiso but they shut that site down. Any help would be appreciated.

Arlington, VA (Iota) show was amazing...best show I've ever seen there
"Must Be in a Good Place Now" is one of the best songs ever written...as a show opener, blew my mind....

and "Standin'" cover is also GENIUS...
as for originals, I may now have finally decided to move BACK HOME to S.F. based on "Another Reason to Go..."
multilayered message received!
I'm driving to Richmond, straight after work on FRI to see y'all again.
yes, I say y'all. I've been in VA too long.......

the set at the bell house made me miss the open road, but instead of hwy 1, it's driving on 80 for me, all the windows down with the hot wind in my face, nothing could be sweeter. thanks for the music. what is the name of the song that had the banjo in it? the name of the song eludes me! i love it!

Tracy | 05/14/09 @ 01:22 PM

You guys did a great job last night at the Pontiac show! I didn't want it to end. I saw Bonnie "Prince" Billy then night before and all I can think about is your show... it was incredible. I hope you enjoy the rest of the tour and I hope to see you soon.

David | 06/04/09 @ 10:51 AM

Hello Andy & Co.,

Longtime fan here just throwing a thank you out there for continually brightening my life - & I am sure the lives of so many others - with your music. Really dig the Wishing Well/Pay No Mind single. Hope everything is well in your lives!

Your music is like an old beautiful tree whose roots grow upward into the sky, spreading it's vastness.

Hey guys. This past December I saw you on my mini vacation to Fargo ND and the following night in Minneapolis. You guys definately did your job as I went out and purchased one of your cd's the next day. Luna Sea has been haunting me for 6 months now. Thanks for the effort on stage. Looking forward to seeing you in Minnesota soon.
