Well tonight is the first show of a short tour we're doing with one of America's best songwriters,
Gary Louris. I don't know about you, but his group The Jayhawks, released two albums i used to listen to a whole lot, 'Hollywood Town Hall' and 'Tomorrow The Green Grass'. This tour is in support of his recently released solo debut, 'Vagabonds', a great album featuring many friends of ours, like Jonathan Wilson, Thom Monahan and Chris Robinson. Otto Hauser plays drums on the record and i even managed to swoop by and sing on a couple tunes. We're honored and excited to be invited along!

Anyway, we've been rehearsing for a few days up in Minneapolis, and have learned a ton of Gary's tunes, as we will be both opening these shows AND backing up Gary during his set. Plenty of stuff off the new album alongside classic Jayhawks numbers and a few choice covers. Vetiver will be debuting a bunch of new songs we're trying to work out for the next record. The talented Eric Heywood is also sitting in on pedal steel and guitar during Gary's set, so these shows should be a real treat. Catch us while you can, if you can!

Hi Andy and all,
So, In a week (oh yeah!) I will be catching you guys in NYC for the second time in less than six months! Such Perfect timing. I can’t wait to hear the new tunes. If it is possible on here to make a request, I would love for you guys to play “On a Nerve” or “Double”. Whichever one would put a smile on my face.
mmm peanut butter pretzels are delish.
Until then, please take care.
♥ Cecilia

Good evening!
Just wanted to say two things, the giant 'e' in vetiver is awesome in the bluebird picture, and I can't wait for tomorrow night's minneapolis show! We're hopping on 94W from Milwaukee, and we'll be there with bells on. Well, we'll be there, I can't guarantee the bells part.

Saw you guys at the Pantages last night with my beloved Gary Louris. Very impressed! When you and Gary started singing, "Where have all my friends gone..." from Blue, I was in heaven. You sounded great. My husband leaned over and said, "I'd like to just listen to those two sometime." Anyway, really dug Vetiver last night. Hope to pick up a record soon.

When you guys opened the show with “on a nerve” last night in NYC, I was in bliss. Thank you so much! The new songs are BEAUTIFUL. I enjoyed every second, minute of the show. When Andy introduced the last song for the night, everyone went “Nooooo!” in unison. I thought that was remarkable.

Unfortunately, I was not able to greet you guys after the show (sad face). I hope to see you guys soon in the city and am desperately waiting for the new album. Until then, best of luck with the rest of the tour.

♥ Cecilia

I just purchased two of your albums and I must say I love them. I am having trouble finding lyrics for all of your songs. Can you help me acquire these lyrics? I hope to see you live someday, so eventually you should play in Austin, TX (preferably at The Parish Room).
Take care ~Melissa

Saw you guys last night in Atlanta, with Louris - my first night back out after quite a bit of a lay-off. An auspicious return. Had to buy the newer one on vinyl (which I'll die still loving the raggedy ass of). Seen Gary a number of times and hope to see you again as many. Thanks for a great welcome back. -fv

Alison | 04/10/08 @ 12:00 PM

So I randomly looked you up because I met Sanders and Andy at an airport last summer...you all should hit up the southwest more often. And hey Sanders, thanks for the drink you bought me on the airport and afterwards ; )

jodi | 05/08/08 @ 07:25 AM

mental stew went out for a biscuit and never returned...too bad for rest who silently clinched there eyes closed in a jar waiting for some fantastic bird to return to its gigantic nest resting much too low in a tree outside of an art school in kansas city...who the fuck are you? no one really knows anyone....but once in a while we can be drawn together underneath some beautiful umbrella to rest for a while and relax in the shade....sipping slowly on some vetiver wine.

Brad Baldwin | 05/12/08 @ 04:23 PM

ANDY! I'll miss you in Brussels by three weeks and I missed you at Meriwether with the Shins by a week. But I have been following along with much happiness. Hey, maybe you can play in Dave Brazonsky's basement and I'll come over. I am so happy for all your success, when I move back to America I will congratulate you properly. Go Spartans!

natalie zanger | 05/16/08 @ 03:35 PM

love you so much!

Peace out, friends!
magic experience at paradiso amsterdam

David | 05/22/08 @ 02:03 AM

Hey guys
Just saw you last night at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, and what a fantastic show. You know somes you see a band and you think if I had a band now it would sound exactly like you guys. I ususally support bands by buying cds at the shows but yesterday I had to run to The Melkweg to catch Lee Scratch Perry and I couldn't be late (he started then and hour and a half late ) but I will see you with Gary Louris and will get some cds for sure. Good luck the rest of the tour!

sean cannon | 05/23/08 @ 07:42 PM

Your music really, really speaks to me. Particularly, Roll On Babe. I cannot stop listening to it. You're all so very gifted and thank you for allowing me to discover such therapeutic music!

David Gale | 05/26/08 @ 08:37 AM

Another beautiful album under the belt, lads...
Many thanks to Andy and Family for providing such gorgeous re-workings of such already groovy songs. So glad you guys played Derroll Adams.

All in all, thanks and I already can't wait for the next LP of originals!

Frosti Jón Runólfsson | 05/28/08 @ 05:21 AM

Hey buckaroo´s.
Kudos on yer new baby. You treat every song with such delicate respect but manage to make them fun too. Way to go.
should´ve included ´save me a place´, no matter what anyone thinks.

You guys are still thought of fondly by me and my compadres.
Your welcome over anytime.
Frosti and family.
Iceland.

Jim | 05/28/08 @ 06:57 PM

I caught your show with the Shins in Norfolk Va. great concert. I bought your CD and was hooked. Unlike so may bands, your songs do not seem hurried, they move a long at their own pace, with good long rolling leads and unstructured use of instruments. Keep up the good work, you guys have found your niche. Look forward to your return to Virginia.

Philip | 05/29/08 @ 08:10 AM

Hey! I was looking forward to seeing you play at the Cluny in Newcastle but unfortunately you have to be 18 or over to get in and I’m only 16 which Is devastating. There’s no chance you could have words with the boss to let me in? It would be smashing if I could go. Can't wait to listen to your new album! If you’re reading this after the 1st of June I hope you had a good show and maybe I’ll get to see you another time. Thank you.

nick & bec | 06/03/08 @ 03:01 PM

My wife Rebecca and I have few nights out due to having two wonderful boys to tend to. In the last few years the two gigs we have really prioritised have been your recent Tunnels gig and the gig at the Lemontree Aberdeen with Devendra. Being able to sit down at the front of the stage with my lady and enjoy the incredible talent that all of you have was awesome. The signed EP will provide a permanent reminder of the night. We continue to spread the word... Thanks Nick & Bec

And | 06/05/08 @ 03:00 AM

Something funny happened with Time and 4th June seemed slow to arrive. But when it came, oh what a night!
I don't like Chorlton (I once worked in the nearby butcher's and I associate the place with selling sausages), truthfully I wasn't even sure about the venue but all this nonsense washed away as I heard Vetiver play again.

Thank you all for making my night, my week, my year with your glorious music. It's been too long, come back soon.

Adrian | 06/07/08 @ 02:35 AM

Hi Andy et al!

Great to see you at both the Liverpool & Manchester shows. I thought the Manchester gig was particularly stunning..probably the best Vetiver show I've seen up to now. The set was superb..it was so great to hear "Double" & "Down At El Rio" performed live..and the new tracks sound brilliant too! Hope you make it back this way again soon..

Cheers!

Patricia | 06/15/08 @ 11:02 PM

This was a great show! Can't get enough of Vetiver

Gabriel | 07/03/08 @ 04:36 PM

Hey Andy, here`s a brazilian fan. I love your songs!

Valeu

Heather | 07/06/08 @ 11:18 PM
