WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?
Archived August 28, 2006

Well a lot has happened since our last entry into this, our first foray into writing about
the group. We toured America and befriended so many people, relied upon the good
graces and hospitality of so many wonderful folks, that we were overwhelmed by the
whole experience. Just summarizing the whole tour in one sentence like that feels...um...kinda
ridiculous. I had hoped to put up some more pictures and give shout outs to
everyone we met along the way, but the pace of touring just made that too difficult, and
i found myself a day after the end of tour flying off to Japan to play the Summer Sonic
festival with Devendra, bicycling around Kyoto with Otto, returning to the states and L.A.
to record for a week with Thom Monahan, then literally back on a plane and on my way
over to London to kickstart our next month-long tour of the UK and Europe. So it seems
i have a lot of backtracking to do, despite being en route constantly to more and more
places, and not really understanding how to do all these updates properly. I'll figure
it out, eventually.

Anyway, Otto and I are in London now, jet-lagged and up at midnight chatting with friends
and getting ready to do a day of radio performances before heading over to Dublin to
meet up with Sanders and Brent and start the tour. Dates are up on the site, so be on the
lookout, and thanks for dropping by....more soon!

Can't wait for the Manchester show next week...STILL can't get enough of "To Find Me Gone"...definitely the best album I've heard this year. (Any chance of doing "I Know No Pardon" next week??)

Cheers!

Looking foreward to hearing you in Portugal.
If you want a nice place to eat some fish and have a beer, go down to the "Ribeira" (riverside area where the Port Wine companies are).

Have fun.

Hey !
I'm working for a french website about rock bands and I'd like to interview you. I think it's a pity you're not more famous in France. I was yesterday at your gig at Manchester and I spoke to Andy who told me it would be possible to interview you on monday when you'll be in France. So I'd like to know how and when we can meet over there (of course, only if you always agree to give me this interview).
Anyway I'd like to congratulate you for your gig who were really great and I think I will see you again on tuesday at La Maroquinerie.
Thanks !

You can mail me at djulla@wanadoo.fr or phone me (06 07 05 74 20)

Hey Andy,

I was at both the Whelans and Electric Picnic gigs in Ireland and just wanted to say how good they were! Whelans was brilliant and the sound was amazing and Electric Picnic was perfect whan the sun was beating down on the stage, fitted the mood perfectly! Pitty it wasn't a longer set though. Thoroughly enjoyable all the same.

Come back to Dublin soon!
Peace, love and respect,
Morgan

Hi Andy,

Enjoyed the set in Manchster..a shame you weren't allowed to do "Red Lantern Girls" at the end..next time maybe (talking of which..any chance of making it over to Liverpool on your next trip??)
Also nice to chat to you after the gig...you asked me post some info about Bilbao and places to eat etc..well first of all, Thursday's gig is in the Azkena (not Ashkena as posted on the site)..it's in Calle Ibañez de Bilbao not far from Gran Vía. As for something to eat..it could be worth checking out a few places in the old part of Bilbao (Casco Viejo)..about 15 mins away over the bridge (Arenal)..with a few tapas/pinchos in the Square (Plaza Nueva). A few friends also suggested either a cheapish set menu in either the Guggenheim Museum Cafetería (12 euro) or in the Café Irunea (classic Bilbao bar/restaurant) which is very close to the venue in Calle Ledesma. Anyway I've emailed a few friends over there so I'm hoping they can make it to the gig..wish I could make it myself!!

Cheers!

'Try, if thou canst...to bring the earthly music into harmony with the celestial melody. Then thou wilt notice what a great influence music hath and what heavenly joy and life it conferreth. Strike up such a melody and tune as to cause the nightingales of divine mysteries to be filled with joy and ecstacy.'

- 'Abdu'l-Baha

your music is beautiful, wonderful. did you know that?
thank you for giving it to us.

big love.

The show in Paris last night was so amazing that I can't find my words. Saw you twice before and it's always an unforgetable moment. So thank you for the music, the good energy, the generosity, you people rock and I just love you. (Next time I'll buy myself some courage to tell you this right after the show *yeah I can do it...*)
Hugs and kisses from Paris

I'm very expecting for your concert.

Hi Andy et al!

I've heard from my Bilbao friends this morning and they all loved the gig last night. None of them had heard any Vetiver songs before but after the show they picked up the CDs (and vinyl) and were delighted to meet y'all and get the stuff signed.. You were also spotted driving through the Bilbao rain this morning on the way out of town..

Cheers!

We've seen you performing this night at the Vademecum in Vigo (today means September 15th).
It was really a great show. I did enjoy Luna Sea a lot; I listen to this song like three times a day and today it was fantastic. Great ending with "Red Lantern Girls" as well. I can't say anything but great.
We met on the street and my friend took a photo of Andy and Otto with their apple lantops. I suppose we're uploading it anywhere. I'll paste the link.

Cheers guys. Keep going.

Marcio | 09/18/06 @ 11:30 AM
